Preventing obesity in school-aged children requires a promotional approach that focuses on establishing healthy eating behaviors from an early age. One effort that can be made is through nutrition education aimed at increasing children's understanding of the importance of a balanced diet. This study was conducted to examine the contribution of nutrition education in supporting obesity prevention efforts in children using a qualitative approach. The research process was carried out through a systematic review of various scientific publications related to childhood obesity and nutrition education. The results of the analysis showed that nutrition education was able to increase children's knowledge about nutrition and encourage positive attitudes towards choosing healthy foods. The effectiveness of education was influenced by the use of learning media, with audiovisual media being considered more interesting and easier to understand. In addition, schools play a role as an environment that supports the implementation of structured nutrition education. Therefore, nutrition education that is systematically organized and supported by the involvement of schools and families has the potential to be a preventive measure in reducing the risk of obesity in children.
