THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BREAKFAST HABITS AND LEARNING CONCENTRATION IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Breakfast is a morning meal that plays an important role in providing initial energy for the body and brain after a period of fasting during sleep. Among students, the habit of eating breakfast is thought to be related to learning concentration abilities that affect academic success. This study aims to analyze the relationship between breakfast habits and student learning concentration based on a literature review. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive-analytical library research approach. Data were obtained from various secondary sources, including books, journals, and relevant national scientific articles, which were searched through Google Scholar. The results of the study show that most studies found a positive relationship between breakfast habits and students' concentration levels, although the strength of the relationship varied and in some studies did not show statistical significance. These differences in results were influenced by various other factors such as the nutritional quality of breakfast, sleep quality, psychological conditions, and the learning environment. In general, a balanced and nutritious breakfast has the potential to support blood glucose stability and cognitive function, thereby helping to improve students' readiness and concentration in learning. Therefore, breakfast is still recommended as part of efforts to maintain health and support students' academic performance.
