THE ROLE OF VITAMIN C IN BOOSTING THE IMMUNE SYSTEM OF STUDENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Vitamin C is one of the essential micronutrients that plays a role in maintaining and boosting the body's immune system. For students, the need for vitamin C becomes even more important due to their busy study schedules and exposure to environments that can potentially lower their immune system. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant that protects the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals, and plays a role in increasing the production and function of white blood cells that fight infection. In addition, vitamin C helps speed up the healing process and reduce the risk of infectious diseases, such as colds and coughs, which are common among students. Getting enough vitamin C through the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, such as oranges, guavas, and broccoli, can help maintain health and improve concentration. Thus, vitamin C plays an important role in supporting the immune system of students so that they can perform optimally in their studies.
